Really fabulous dinner here. Proper home cooked chicken pie with excellent pastry. Delicious. Very good service and lovely atmosphere.

I love this place! Historic old coaching inn, with lovely old oak beams (evidently timbers from the prison ship "The Good Intent"!); crazy rooms, narrow steps and very low ceilings ("mind your head" all over). The menu is wonderful. But actually I love the breakfast presentation - a continental breakfast in a common kitchen (with no-one else around) - make your own toast, fresh milk etc.
What a great English pub!Friendly service and yummy food (trio of bangers and pie of the day - game ). Some nice ales on tap to choose from - which we cheerfully enjoyed! Do it!
